W Dallas Event Planning Meeting - TUESDAY JULY 10TH

To all concerned

As you are all aware the West Dallas Weed and Seed, which is composed of a network of West Dallas organizations, churches and agencies, has agreed to partner with Highland Park Presbyterian Church – Project Transformation to conduct a major special event on August 11, 2007. The event is intended to be an opportunity to offer support and hope to West Dallas residents, and to rally a common desire and interest in restoring the environmental and human condition of our West Dallas neighborhoods.

The August 11th special event will bring together a number of volunteers from West Dallas as well as surrounding areas to kick-off neighborhood beautification projects; family entertainment, fun and games; and, spiritual outreach. One of the highlights of the day will be a youth rally block party, featuring a former R & B celebrity who has changed his life and now performs contemporary gospel. Along with the block party plans are to conduct a sports clinic, neighborhood entertainment, prayer walks and spiritual outreach. Our hope is that the beautification projects will be an on-going activity.

To implement this event we are planning a meeting on Tuesday, July 10th at 1:30 – 3:00, at the WEST DALLAS COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2215 CANADA DRIVE, 214.634.1303.
